The impact of Davis and Success in crucial draw

It ended 1-1 at Bluenergy Stadium between Udinese and Napoli on Monday evening after Isaac Success struck a late equaliser. It was the forward’s first goal in 379 days, going back to 23 April 2023 against Cremonese.

Lazar Samardzic featured in his 100th game in the top five European leagues and made an impact on the contest with the joint most goalscoring chances (three) and key passes (three) along with Napoli’s Jesper Lindstrom. The midfielder also covered 11.7km, which was more than anyone else on the pitch for the second game in a row.

There were 50 minutes of effective playing time out of just under 98 minutes of action, while Udinese were in active possession of the ball for 16 minutes (32%).

The changes up front made an instant impact, despite the attempts by Napoli’s rearguard to thwart Udinese’s attacking play. After coming on with 53 minutes on the clock, Keinan Davis and Success recorded a pressure index of 74.15% and 70.32% respectively, with only Victor Osimhen doing better.

Walace won possession back on 11 occasions, at least four more times than any other player on the pitch.

Referee Gianluca Aureliano kept his cards in his pocket throughout the stalemate.
