Transfer news LIVE!
Arsenal are closing in on their first major summer signing, but it may not be the headline name the Gunners faithful have been hoping for, as Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga is expected to complete his move to North London this week. The ongoing soap opera of their striker search is set to wear on, though new reports hint Benjamin Sesko could be set to extend his stay at RB Leipzig following the arrival of new head coach Ole Werner. Viktor Gyokeres is still pushing to make the move to North London, but has also fielded interest from Man United.
Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Jamie Gittens, with talks ongoing in the United States, while Joao Pedro, Mohammed Kudus and Malick Fofana are on the shortlist too. The Blues are weighing up whether to go back in for Mike Maignan and have interest in Ousmane Diomande and Murillo as they bid to boost their defence. United, meanwhile, are closing in on Bryan Mbeumo having submitted an improved bid of more than £60m, while their former midfielder Paul Pogba has reportedly agreed a return to football with AS Monaco.
Liverpool have finally announced Florian Wirtz and will soon do the same with Milos Kerkez before plotting a move for Marc Guehi and, maybe, Alexander Isak. Tottenham could aso shake up the market with a shock swoop for Eberechi Eze as they look to kick of Thomas Frank’s managerial tenure with a statement aquisition. Manchester United goalkeeper target Diogo Costa is said to be open to leaving Porto this summer.
Ruben Amorim is reportedly keen to hand current No1 Andre Onana some fresh competition, but would be willing to sign a new starting keeper should the opportunity arise.
Costa has emerged as an option, and the Portuguese press are now reporting that he is ready to ‘embrace a new challenge’ after spending six years with Los Dragoes.
He is also said to ‘dream’ of playing in England and has told his inner circle that he is prepared to move having ‘achieved everything’ in Portugal.

Arsenal are expected to complete the signing of Kepa Arrizabalaga this week.
The Gunners will activate the £5m release clause in the Spaniard’s contract at Chelsea, with Kepa arriving to provide competition for David Raya.
Neto was signed on loan from Bournemouth to be Arsenal’s back-up goalkeeper last season, but was cup-tied for the Carabao Cup and barely featured.
Kepa is still the world’s most expensive goalkeeper after he joined Chelsea in 2018 for £72m from Athletic Bilbao.

Chelsea’s move for Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens could be wrapped up ‘imminently’ as the two clubs’ representatives continue negotiations at the Club World Cup.
The Blues hope to add a new winger this summer following Jadon Sancho’s departure and Mykhailo Mudryk’s suspension.
Gittens, 20, emerged as a target early in the transfer window, and Chelsea came close to agreeing a deal for the player ahead of the Club World Cup, but ultimately fell short after failing to agree a price.
Standard Sport reported on Tuesday that he remains a top priority transfer despite Bayern Munich also plotting a bid after missing out on Florian Wirtz.
According to fresh reports in The Athletic, Chelsea are set to beat the German champions to the punch, and hope to reach an agreement in short order.

New reports this morning claim that Anthony Gordon would be open to joining Liverpool should an offer arrive.
The Reds are said to be after a new winger, and Gordon, a boyhood Liverpool supporter, has been shortlisted.
Arsenal and Chelsea are also interested in the player.
A move this summer is said to be unlikely, though, as Newcastle are not keen to sell.
He scored six goals and assisted five in 34 Premier League appearances last season.

Barcelona have emerged as an unlikely destination for Marcus Rashford.
The Blaugrana are said to be interested in taking the striker on loan. He could present a budget alternative to Nico Williams.
Rashford is not in Ruben Amorim’s United plans, but the club would reportedly prefer a permanent move to another loan, and may not sanction the move.

Crystal Palace Women have named Jo Potter as their new head coach.
The 40-year-old, formerly of Rangers and Birmingham City, will be tasked with returning the Eagles to the WSL after they were relegated last season.
As a player, Potter won 35 England caps while representing Arsenal, Charlton Athletic, Everton, and Reading. She retired from playing in 2021.
She said: “I know there’s huge ambition running throughout the club. I had a really good conversation with Steve Parish and could see how important the women’s team are to him and his aspirations for this club.
“My message to the fans is that we are going to fight – we are going to fight with you and for you. We want to see you bring the noise and support the team.”

Sean Dyche is said to be in pole position to take over from Ruud Van Nistelrooy at Leicester as the Dutchman is set to be relieved of his duties this summer.
Dyche most recently worked for Everton, but has replaced by David Moyes last season. Van Nistelrooy is due to be replaced by the Foxes after he was brought in to prevent the club’s relegation, in which he was unsuccessful.
They had previously looked to land Russel Martin for the role before he chose to join Rangers.
No switch will take place until July, though.

Newcastle are looking to tie down Alexander Isak’s future at St James’ Park amid reports Liverpool could look to break the British transfer record for a second time this summer to bring him to Anfield.
According to reports, they have opened contract talks with the prolific Swede, and are prepared to make him the highest-paid player at the club.
The offer sits at £150,000-per-week in salary, according to The Times. That would make him one of Newcastle’s highest earners, though the club are concerned that Liverpool could still make a sweeter deal.
Isak is thought to be open to joining the Premier League champions, though a move would necessitate a bid of at least £150m.
