A club vice-president has spoken out about what could potentially become the next big Chelsea transfer saga, and it’s a saga that has already been very big during the summer.
The January transfer window is now fast approaching, and Chelsea will likely be once again looking at the striker market just as they did in the summer. This will be despite the good form of Nicolas Jackson, with the club seemingly looking to have two top options in every position on the pitch.
Of course, there was the drama in the summer of the Victor Osimhen to Chelsea saga, a deal that looked like it could get done on transfer deadline day but Chelsea did not manage to get it over the line.
Many believe The Blues will return for Osimhen in the winter window, with whispers of there being a break clause in his new loan contract at Galatasaray.
Osimhen staying in Turkey apparently
Osimhen joined to Turkish side on loan for the season, which was a very odd move. But after the Chelsea move broke down, Osimhen then had very little choice of where he could go and play, because he would not have played if he stayed at Napoli.
But Galatasaray vice-president Ibrahim Hatipoglu is adamant Osimhen is staying in the winter window, and even past his season long loan!
In words cited on X, Hatpoglu said:
“There is no chance that Victor Osimhen will leave the team in January. In fact, we are planning to let him play next season as well. Osimhen will remain a Galatasaray player until June.”
