A striker who has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea in recent days, weeks, and months, have finally broken his silence on the potential rumour.

Chelsea are continuing to be linked with many new strikers, but there is one name that has consistently come up from basically every report and outlet whilst speaking on this situation.

Jhon Duran of Aston Villa has been looked at by Chelsea, that is for sure. He was also linked with them back in January. Chelsea didn’t make a move then, and it doesn’t look like they have advanced with anything just yet this summer either. But something could still spark up and push forward on this one.

Duran has been speaking about the rumour whilst out playing at Copa America with his country. He was asked about the potential move.

As expected really, the young striker has not really given anything away and says he is just concentrating on the Copa America right now.

However, it might also be pretty telling that Duran has not thrown water over the hot rumours either and allows them to continue to fester on.

As cited on X today, Duran said on a potential move to Chelsea this summer:

“The options of the other teams I don’t know, I am not aware now. I’m focused on the national team, at the Copa America, wanting to add minutes, supporting the team a lot. For those topics of possible signing I already have other people who take care of that.”

Well, that is fair enough, and only time will tell now as to whether he will be going to Chelsea or not this summer, or if Chelsea will even be stepping forward with their interest or not.

They certainly need to sign a striker regardless.
