The 22-year-old scored 18 goals in League One last season.
Wycombe Wanderers striker Richard Kone is attracting transfer interest from Championship sides Swansea City, Preston North End and Wrexham.
The 22-year-old is wanted by Championship clubs after netting 19 goals in all competitions as the Chairboys reached the League One play-offs last season.
Kone enjoyed an outstanding start to the 2024/25 campaign, scoring 12 goals before the turn of the year, which resulted in Luton Town showing serious interest in him during the January transfer window in 2025.
Sky Sports reported that the Hatters had a £7 million bid for the striker rejected by Wycombe in January, but after the Chairboys failed to win promotion to the Championship during the second half of the season, second tier sides are once again circling.
According to reporter Jacob Steinberg via X, Swansea, Preston and Wrexham are showing interest in Kone, with it understood that Wycombe expect to receive more than £5 million for the striker, who is out of contract next summer.
Swansea, Preston and Wrexham could face further competition from clubs abroad in the race for Kone's signature, with it being reported that he is also attracting interest from France and Belgium.
Toulouse, who finished 10th in Ligue 1 last season, are said to be strongly interested in Kone alongside Swansea and Preston, while Union Saint-Gilloise, like Wrexham, are also tracking the forward.
Union Saint-Gilloise won the Belgian Pro League title last season, so they would give Kone the chance to compete for silverware, as well as giving him the opportunity to test himself in the UEFA Champions League.
Meanwhile, a move to Toulouse would mean Kone got to play in one of the top divisions in Europe, which could prove tempting for the 22-year-old.
Swansea, Preston and Wrexham will hope that Kone is keen to continue his development at the next level in England, having enjoyed an excellent season in the EFL last term.
Kone has been the subject of transfer interest since the beginning of the year due to his goalscoring exploits last season, and he may have thought he was nearing an exit when Luton lodged an eye-watering £7 million in January.
However, he stayed at Wycombe and helped them reach the League One play-offs, where they were beaten in the semi-final by Charlton Athletic.
The striker has attracted interest from other clubs already this summer, including Celtic, but it has now been revealed that Championship sides Swansea and Preston, as well as French outfit Toulouse, are showing strong interest in him.
Wrexham and Union Saint-Gilloise are understood to just be tracking Kone, so the Red Dragons may be prioritising Kieffer Moore in their hunt for a new striker, with the club reportedly prepared to pay £4 million for the Welsh international, as per Alan Nixon.
Kone could finally find himself in the Championship if any one of Swansea, Preston or Wrexham can agree a fee in the region of £5 million with Wycombe, unless he is more tempted by a move to Europe.
