It would be an understatement to say that Richarlison's time in North London has been stop start due to injuries. So far this campaign, he has played just 285 minutes in the Premier League, 66 minutes in the Carabao Cup, and 201 minutes in the Europa League - 552 minutes in total, which equates to just over six full games of football. This is being written out on the 10th of March.

After seven games in a row - albeit totalling 372 minutes - he picked up another injury in the Carabao Cup semi final second leg away to Liverpool, being replaced by debutant Mathys Tel. Since then he has not seen the pitch.

His luck was summed up back in November, when he came on as a sub against Aston Villa. 25 minutes later, he assisted Dominic Solanke to make it 3-1 to Spurs - but pulled a muscle in the process, and was then not seen again for two months.

Tottenham Hotspur forward flies back to Brazil to see a Palmeiras doctor

Interestingly, reports over in Brazil are suggesting that the forward is being treated by a doctor at Brazilian side Palmeiras. The report states it is nothing do with any potential transfer, but rather because the same doctor had worked with the striker before.

Nevertheless, it is interesting that he has travelled all the way to South America - even if it is home - for treatment. This comes after Cristian Romero, in a post on social media, thanked the Argentina national team physios, but not those at Spurs. Here we have another player travelling half way across the world for treatment.

With the amount of injuries that Ange's side have had this season, there has naturally been plenty of speculation around what has been going wrong, with several fans saying that there have simply been too many injuries for it all to be bad luck, though there are plenty that think Ange is more to blame than the medical department.

Nevertheless, despite the issues the club have with injuries, and the (potential) problems of the medical department, Richarlison is particularly injury prone, more so than most of his team mates. As a result, even the fans that appreciate his quality are saying it is time to cash in. There has been interest from former club Everton recently, it will be interesting to see if anything comes from that.

Still, if the club's medical department are in fact to blame, at least in part, then we will see if this treatment over in Brazil makes a difference. Let's hope so.
