Inter Milan midfield dynamo Nicolo Barella didn’t suffer a serious injury in Monday’s Serie A thrashing of Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.
According to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, the 27-year-old should be ready for Thursday’s Coppa Italia clash against Udinese.
Barella was outstanding last night, netting one of the finest goals you’ll witness in Serie A this season.
Indeed, he hammered home a long-range screamer at the start of the second half to put the Nerazzurri 3-0 up.
Apart from the goal, the diminutive midfielder was a constant presence in the center of the field.
He dictated play and showcased his work rate throughout the match, emerging as one of Inter’s most impressive performers.
However, an intense performance took its toll on the Italy international.
The former Cagliari ace picked up several knocks during the match.
Perhaps frustrated with the result, Lazio midfielders grew more aggressive, committing several harsh tackles on Barella.
Luckily, the Nerazzurri star has escaped serious injury, and his condition is not as concerning as initially feared.
In addition to Barella, Federico Dimarco returned to Giuseppe Meazza with bruises.
However, Simone Inzaghi should have both players at his disposal for Thursday’s meeting with Udinese.
The two teams will battle it out for a place in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals.
