Inter Milan star forward Marcus Thuram has revealed his Christmas wishlist as he prepares to drop the curtain on a hugely successful 2024.

During a comprehensive interview with TF1’s Telefoot via FCInterNews, Thuram addressed several exciting topics, including France’s recent UEFA Nations League game against Italy.

Thuram returned to Stadio San Siro as a foe, leading the charge for his national team in last month’s 3-1 triumph.

“It was magnificent,” he said.

“I enjoyed every moment, from the national anthem to leaving the field and the final whistle. It was an incredible experience.”

Les Bleus pipped Italy to the top spot in their Nations League group.

However, they’ve faced substantial criticism this year, especially following a disappointing form at EURO 2024.

Still, Thuram admits the criticism doesn’t affect him.

“No, it doesn’t bother me. Criticism is part of our sport.

“As professionals, we’ve been hearing it from day one, but a top-level player needs to rise above it.

“Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but the most important thing is to give your all in every match.”

Meanwhile, he also explained his role within the team.

“It’s the same as always. I try to give my best for the jersey, help my teammates, bring positivity, and make sure the group thrives and wins.”

But he hasn’t been as prolific for France as at Inter.

“Honestly, I don’t think about it. When I play for the national team, scoring isn’t an obsession.

“I aim to perform well; sometimes I’ll score, sometimes I won’t. I’d rather play well and not score than score in a poor performance.”

Inter Milan Superstar Marcus Thuram Outlines His List of Wishes for 2025

Thuram has been amazing this season.

Indeed, he has tallied 11 goals in Serie A, including Inter’s sixth in last night’s 6-0 thumping of Lazio.

Following a bumpy start, Simone Inzaghi’s men are back on track, as Thuram offers his verdict on the current campaign.

“Everything’s going great,” he stated. “I scored quite a few goals early on.

“We’re not yet where we want to be compared to last season at this stage, but with hard work and consistency. I believe we’ll return to our best.”

Thuram then addressed his relationship with French fans and his trademark celebration.

“Maybe French fans should speak Italian,” he joked.

“People really like it. I’ve been warmly welcomed by Inter fans and Italian supporters overall. Italy feels like my second home.”

In the meantime, he insists he’s immune to pressure.

“Whether I wear the jersey of Inter, France, or Borussia Moenchengladbach, I’ve never felt pressured.

“So, I don’t know; maybe they need to start speaking Italian too.”

As for his wishes for 2025, Thuram insists he craves another Serie A title with Inter.

“I hope to win another league title with Inter,” he was adamant. “It’s something that stays with you forever, and I want to relive that feeling.”

But Inzaghi’s charges face a packed fixture schedule in the coming weeks.

“Of course, it’s tough – mentally, emotionally, and physically,” Thuram confirmed.

“We’re professionals, so we give our best, but you can’t ignore the fact that there are too many games.”

When asked how he recovers, he replied: “I sleep a lot.”

International Distraction & Private Life

“I talk when I feel it’s necessary,” Thuram said. “Some people talk a lot, but I prefer chatting on the phone with friends.

“If I talk to the media, it’s because something significant has happened. I don’t talk just for the sake of talking; I prefer to let my football do the talking.”

France will soon embark on their qualifying campaign for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

However, Thuram refuses to think about that.

“We’ll meet again with the national team in March, but it won’t be the World Cup yet.

“We take things step by step; with so many games to play, thinking too far ahead won’t help us get there.”

He also explained his relationship with France gaffer Didier Deschamps.

“He doesn’t insist on anything specific. He’s known me for 27 years.

“People might think he’s always on my case, but it’s for my benefit.

“He’s been this way since my first call-up and continues to push me – it’s better that way.”
