La Liga outfit Sevilla have been left to sweat over the wellbeing of a leading member of the club’s midfield ranks, ahead of their return to action this weekend.
This comes owing to developments on the international front on Monday.
Sevilla mainstay Nemanja Gudelj was back in action last night, featuring from the off in Serbia’s Nations League meeting with Denmark.
En route to an eventual goalless stalemate, however, the 33-year-old was forced into a premature departure from proceedings during the 2nd-half.
This came owing to an an injury problem, the nature of which is yet to be confirmed.
Gudelj will undergo a round of medical tests upon landing back in Spain over the next 24 hours, the results of which are set to determine his status for Sevilla’s La Liga meeting with Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
The midfielder’s absence would mark a heavy blow, with boss García Pimienta already without the services of the likes of Suso, Saúl Ñíguez and Lucien Agoumé for the weekend.
