Inter Milan and Dinamo Zagreb are getting closer to finding a long-awaited agreement for talented midfielder Petar Sucic.
According to Croatian news outlet Nacional via FCInter1908, the Italians have reduced the gap on Dinamo’s valuation of their prize asset.
Sucic has been on Inter’s radar since the beginning of the January transfer window.
However, negotiations with the perennial Croatian champions have progressed slowly.
Aware of the midfielder’s potential, they value him at around €18 million and are unwilling to budge on their asking price.
Meanwhile, Inter’s opening bid fell narrowly short of Dinamo’s request.
Inter tabled a tangible proposal worth €15m.
Indeed, they’d ideally pay Dinamo €15m up front, plus €3m more in easily achievable add-ons.
Furthermore, the Nerazzurri would leave Sucic on loan at Maksimir until the end of the season to sweeten the deal.
The 21-year-old has recently struggled with a knee injury.
As such, Inter believe it’d be in the player’s best interest to stay in his homeland until the summer.
In all fairness, he would unlikely break into Simone Inzaghi’s starting line-up immediately.
Therefore, leaving him at Dinamo for five more months makes perfect sense.
