In a major update, German publication SportBILD reports that Bayer Leverkusen and Germany sensation Florian Wirtz is likely to sign for Real Madrid in the summer of 2025.
Wirtz, 21, is one of the most sought-after young talents in European football having excelled at Bayer Leverkusen over the past few seasons.
The German wonderkid has been a key component of Xabi Alonso’s team that has won the Bundesliga title this season and is still unbeaten in all competitions.
While speculations over his future have been doing the rounds, it has been established that Wirtz will stay with Die Werkself for one more season until 2025 before taking the next step in his career.
Previous reports had suggested that Florian Wirtz could end up at Bayern Munich in the summer of 2025, as his entourage saw that move as the ideal next step in his career before moving abroad.
However, now, SportBILD reports that Real Madrid have emerged as the most likely destination for Wirtz when he leaves Leverkusen in 2025.

The Merengues are great admirers of the 21-year-old German international and see him as a candidate to take over from veteran superstar Toni Kroos as per the report, even though the two players are of very different profiles.
In fact, it is even suggested that Real Madrid have assigned one of their most influential scouts, Felipe Martin, who also scouted Jude Bellingham, to watch Wirtz in every game he plays from the stands.
The Spanish capital club make such a move only when they are very serious about signing a player, which indicates that Wirtz is a key target in the club’s roadmap for the future.
Apart from Real Madrid and Bayern, the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City are also keen on signing the German international.
However, as things stand, it appears that Real Madrid might have an edge over their competitors in the race for Wirtz for 2025.
