Real Madrid readying backroom overhaul after injury crisis of last season | OneFootball

The brass at La Liga giants Real Madrid are preparing something of an overhaul to the club’s medical department.

That’s according to The Athletic, who have this weekend provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.

The medical team at Real Madrid took their place front and centre in the headlines this past season.

Unfortunately for those involved, however, as much came for less than positive reasons.

Instead, those behind the scenes at Valdebebas were singled out for heavy criticism on the part of the club’s fanbase, owing to a long-term injury crisis.

At one point towards the season’s conclusion, Carlo Ancelotti was without his entire back-four, a situation which was evidently deemed as unacceptable on the part of the Santiago Bernabéu hierarchy.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of The Athletic that:

‘Real Madrid have decided to make several changes in the medical department after the spate of injuries that plagued the team last season.’
