Ferland Mendy is one of the few Real Madrid players who has been greatly impacted following the arrival of Xabi Alonso.
The new Real Madrid manager does not view Mendy as an essential member of the squad and has asked the club to sanction his sale this summer.
It appears Alonso is ready to continue with Alvaro Carreras and Fran Garcia as his two main left-backs for next season.
As reported by Defensa Central, Ferland Mendy is aware of the fact that Real Madrid want to get rid of him this summer.
However, the player has no desire to leave Santiago Bernabeu just yet, with his current contract not expiring until 2028.

Real Madrid, though, are so keen to part ways with the French international that they are even open to waiving a transfer fee, simply to facilitate his departure.
While the club would prefer to generate revenue from his sale, there is an acknowledgement internally that finding a buyer may be difficult due to Mendy’s high wages and inconsistent availability.
This is quite the departure from Real Madrid’s usual no-nonsense stance towards player departures, with the club not accepting any offers for any player unless they are economically attractive.
Mendy, for his part, has no intention of leaving the Spanish capital just yet. As mentioned earlier, he remains under contract until 2028 and is said to be comfortable at the Bernabeu, despite the lack of guarantees under the new manager.
Should the situation drag into late August, it won’t be surprising to see Madrid considering a mutual termination or a heavily subsidised loan. But for now, the ball is in the player’s court.
