The brass at La Liga giants Real Madrid have reached an agreement with head coach Carlo Ancelotti over the terms of his exit.

That’s according to The Athletic’s Mario Cortegana, who has on Monday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.

The subject of Ancelotti’s future has of course dominated the headlines surrounding Real Madrid over recent weeks.

This comes after Los Blancos’ Champions League elimination, followed by a Copa del Rey final defeat at the hands of Barcelona, were followed by widespread reports of an imminent parting of ways between the parties.

Official word regarding as much is yet to arrive, giving rise to claims of a potential falling out over the payout owed to Ancelotti as per the remaining year of his contract.

As alluded to above, though, on Monday, confirmation of an agreement between Real Madrid and their outgoing manager has at last arrived.

As per the aforementioned Mario Cortegana:

‘Carlo Ancelotti and Real Madrid have reached an agreement over the terms of his departure.’

The tactician is now expected to put pen to paper on terms with the Brazilian national team.
