A recent report from SPORT has revealed a major shift happening inside the Real Madrid dressing room.

The outlet mentions that the arrival of new manager Xabi Alonso has caused certain players, who were once secure under Carlo Ancelotti, to suddenly face uncertain futures.

Among the biggest names affected are Rodrygo, Ferland Mendy, Dani Ceballos, Endrick, and David Alaba.

Each player’s situation is different, but the common thread is that they are being edged out by others who better suit Alonso’s approach.

Difficult cases to notice

Rodrygo’s dip in form, a lack of tactical fit, and increased competition have all played a part in his decline.

Ferland Mendy, a left-back who offers little going forward, is another at risk, especially if Real Madrid finalise the signing of Alvaro Carreras.

Ceballos, meanwhile, continues to fall behind in a packed midfield where others are proving more effective.

Alaba’s case is unique. He has spent the last two seasons mostly injured and now finds himself further down the pecking order with the rise of young defenders like.

With just a year left on his contract, it is hard to see how he will reclaim a regular role.

Real Madrid will not force anyone out

Despite the uncertainty, Real Madrid are showing respect for contracts. No player will be pushed out, but the club is open to helping those who request a move.

Players like Rodrygo, Mendy, and Ceballos could leave if suitable offers arrive. Rodrygo and Mendy are tied until 2028, while Ceballos has a deal until 2027.

In contrast, Endrick is considered non-transferable. The club sees him as a long-term project, though with Kylian Mbappe and Gonzalo Garcia shining, a loan move to a Champions League-level team might be best for his development.

Alonso’s preference for players like Arda Guler, Gonzalo, Dean Huijsen, Fran Garcia, and incoming youngster Franco Mastantuono shows that the squad is evolving fast.

Those who can’t keep up may find the door open if they choose to walk through it.
