Real Madrid: Gonzalo García will not leave
Chelsea may have been pursuing Gonzalo García, but the Spanish striker will not be leaving Real Madrid this summer. According to multiple reliable sources, Los Merengues have closed the door on any departure, whether permanent or on loan.
At 21 years old, the Spanish forward saw limited action in La Liga this season, making just three appearances in the Madrid shirt. However, his situation changed during the Club World Cup. Xabi Alonso, Real’s new head coach, put his trust in him—and García delivered in style.
Four goals and one assist in five matches—Gonzalo García made a real statement during the tournament. This impressive showing caught Chelsea’s eye, with the club reportedly ready to put €40 million on the table, according to Sport.
But according to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid has no intention of letting go of their young striker. Xabi Alonso is reportedly very happy with García’s development and plans to count on him for the upcoming season. With 25 goals and 4 assists for Real Madrid Castilla in the league, Gonzalo García looks set to establish himself firmly in the top flight.
