Real Madrid nominated for the Laureus World Team of the Year Award

Real Madrid have been nominated for the Laureus World Team of the Year Award for 2025, following their exceptional last year, during which they won the Spanish Super Cup, La Liga, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.
The Merengues enjoyed another trophy-laden season under Carlo Ancelotti, bagging three trophies and have added two more this season, while staying in contention for three more.
Naturally, the Spanish capital club find themselves in contention to win the Laureus World Team of the Year Award at the ceremony which will be held in Madrid next month.
Real Madrid will be competing with the Spanish national team, who won the UEFA Euro 2024 under the guidance of manager Luis de la Fuente in Germany.
Barcelona Femeni, who enjoyed yet another successful season in 2023/24, are also nominated for the Team of the Year honour.
Other teams in the running for the award are Boston Celtics who won a record 18th NBA title last year, as well as the US Men’s Basketball Team after winning the gold medal at the Olympics, and McLaren F1 team who won the 2024 Constructors’ Championship Title.
