Injuries came thick and fast for Real Madrid last season, as the club battled with a storm of absences throughout the campaign.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti and co. ultimately managed to weather the storm and the players available at his disposal stepped up to the plate remarkably to ensure the lack of squad depth did not imperil their chances of competing for trophies.

However, due to the continuous injury lapses, some of the Merengues‘ stars did not prolong their recovery periods.

The likes of Jude Bellingham and Brahim Diaz made premature returns from their injuries last season and are still suffering from some of those effects.

Surgery has been ruled out for both players

Bellingham and Brahim were originally scheduled to have surgery on their shoulders following the season and the Euros.

However, AS now reports that surgery is not currently in the club’s plans as the players will likely continue playing with protective gear to prevent further injury until necessary reassessment.

“Neither of them have had surgery and we do not believe that it is in their plans, given what they agreed with the doctors,” club sources have affirmed to the newspaper.

Bellingham injured his shoulder last November against Rayo Vallecano after a clash with Isi Palazon. Since then, he has played with a shoulder pad.

Similarly, Brahim Diaz suffered a severe fall during the Madrid derby last September, dislocating his right shoulder. Despite this, he continued playing and finished the season without issues.

For now, the club is willing to brush over precautionary measures, especially with the tight schedules and minimal time available ahead of next season.

While Brahim is scheduled to travel to Valdebebas on the 15th for medical examinations prior to beginning training with Antonio Pintus, Bellingham will take a vacation following the European Championship in Germany.
