Real Madrid starlet Marvel is set to return to the club after spending the last season on loan at Cordoba.
However, the 22-year-old centre-half is unlikely to remain with the team for long, with a permanent move away likely on the horizon.
Now, according to MARCA, Marvel could be on his way to Leganes, who are keen on signing the defensive prospect from Real Madrid.
The club, managed by Paco Lopez, who were relegated from La Liga, are closely monitoring the defender, who remains tied to Castilla.
Real Madrid are open to letting the youngster leave if a suitable offer arises, considering he is no longer a part of the plans at Castilla and has no place in the senior setup.
And, Leganes have emerged as a leading option to sign Marvel, though they are not the only team interested in the player.
Leganes have shown interest since the end of last season, but the need for a new central defender intensified following the long-term injury to Ruben Pulido.
The club’s director, Andres Pardo, well-acquainted with Real Madrid’s academy, is heading the negotiations for Marvel.
In a subtle teaser, Leganes recently shared an image of a left leg tattoo featuring Marvel characters Spider-Man, Thanos, and the Avengers “A” logo – seemingly hinting at the Real Madrid youngster’s arrival, though the connection was later downplayed.
Marvel will be one of many youngsters leaving Real Madrid, with Victor Munoz headed to Osasuna, Yusi set to join Alaves, and Jacobo Ramon attracting interest from Como.
