La Liga giants Real Madrid are giving consideration to launching a January assault on the signature of Brazilian starlet Vitor Reis.
That’s according to Diario AS, who have on Sunday provided an insight into the situation.
It is of course common knowledge at this point that Spanish champions Real are giving consideration to dipping into the market this winter.
This comes amid nothing short of an injury crisis in Carlo Ancelotti’s backline.
Over the course of the last month, long-term Blancos injury absentees David Alaba and Joan Martínez have been joined on the treatment table by all of Dani Carvajal, Éder Militão, Lucas Vázquez and Aurélien Tchouaméni.
Whilst the preference of Florentino Pérez and co. is to wait until the summer, the board at the Santiago Bernabéu have therefore been left with no choice but to at least take into consideration a mid-season move for reinforcements.
And, as per the aforementioned AS, citing ‘Le Journal du Real’, one option being taken into consideration comes in the form of Vitor Reis.
Reis, for his part, is an 18-year-old central defender, who is currently plying his trade with Palmerias.
The stopper has long been held in high regard in his home country, as evidenced by his status as a regular in the Brazilian youth team setups.
He has broken onto the first-team picture at Palmeiras in 2024, with his composed performances to date having begun to pique attentions across Europe.
So much so that, if the latest word stemming from the media on Sunday is anything to go by, then Real Madrid are now giving real consideration to tabling an offer for his services.
