According to Fichajes, newly promoted Premier League side Sunderland are ready to make a strong move for Real Madrid’s young forward Gonzalo Garcia.
They want to sign him on loan with a mandatory purchase clause if they manage to stay up in the Premier League.
The proposed deal would see Sunderland pay €15 million plus another €5 million in variables if they secure survival, making it clear how highly they value Garcia’s potential.
At just 21 years old, Garcia is turning heads after his impressive performances at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, where he played three matches, scored two goals, and provided an assist.
His displays have shown he can shine on the big stage. With the youth team last season, he played 36 matches, scoring 25 goals and setting up four assists.
He also netted in his single Copa del Rey appearance with the senior team, showing he can deliver in knockout games too.

Interestingly, Sunderland are not the only ones in the race. AS Roma have expressed interest with a loan offer that does not include a purchase option, showing they want to test the waters before committing.
Real Oviedo have also asked about taking Garcia on loan without a purchase option, hoping to benefit from his talent without a long-term obligation.
Leeds United, meanwhile, are ready to table the biggest offer so far, willing to pay €20 million outright for the young striker.
However, Real Madrid are being smart. They know how valuable Garcia could become and are negotiating a buy-back clause worth €30 million if they decide to sell him.
This way, Los Blancos ensure they can bring him back if he keeps improving and becomes a star elsewhere. It is a clear sign of Real Madrid’s incredible depth of talent and their commitment to planning for the future.
