Rangers have emerged as the frontrunners to sign highly rated Tottenham Hotspur youngster Mikey Moore on loan, with a move to Ibrox now looking increasingly likely despite significant interest from the English Championship, according to a report from The Telegraph.
The 17-year-old winger is widely regarded as one of the brightest prospects in Spurs’ academy and made his senior debut under Ange Postecoglou, becoming the club's youngest-ever Premier League debutant at the end of the 2023/24 season. Moore's rapid rise has attracted a host of suitors across the EFL, with several Championship clubs making enquiries about a temporary deal.
However, sources close to the situation indicate that Rangers are now seen as the most probable destination for Moore, with talks progressing between the two clubs. The Scottish giants are keen to bolster their attacking options and believe Moore’s profile – quick, direct, and technically gifted – fits perfectly into Russell Martin's plans for the coming season.
Tottenham are understood to view Rangers as an ideal loan environment for the teenager’s development. The opportunity to gain first-team experience in a high-pressure setting, including the potential for European football, is seen as a key factor in Spurs’ decision-making process.
While no deal has yet been finalised, all parties are optimistic that an agreement can be reached in the coming days. Should the move go through, Moore would become the latest English prospect to head north of the border in search of regular senior football, following a well-trodden path in recent years.
Spurs will be monitoring his progress closely, with the club viewing the loan as a stepping stone in Moore’s transition from academy starlet to first-team contender.
