Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has been named the Premier League Manager of the Season for the 2023/24 campaign.

Guardiola led City to a fourth consecutive Premier League title this year, fending off competition from Arsenal to extend his side's reign at the top of the standings.

Fans and an expert panel voted for Guardiola to win the manager prize from a shortlist which also included Arsenal's Mikel Arteta, Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp, Aston Villa's Unai Emery and Bournemouth's Andoni Iraola, all of whom Guardiola was keen to praise in his acceptance speech.

"I want to share it, yes, oh yes! Especially with Mikel for the incredible job he has done until the last game, bringing us to our limits," said Guardiola.

"Of course, for Jurgen, for the unforgettable battles for many, many years. And Unai Emery, making something unbelievable again to bring Aston Villa to the Champions League.

"And Andoni Iraola, with Bournemouth, being his first season in the Premier League, doing what he has done, coming back from the tough start of the season.

"It is an honour to be alongside all of them and to win this trophy. We will defend this award as best as possible in the future."

This is the fifth time Guardiola has won the Premier League Manager of the Season award, further cementing his place in second on the all-time standings.

Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson leads the way with a whopping 11 individual honours, while Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger sit behind the City boss with three triumphs each.

Catching Ferguson in the standings feels like an impossible task, not least because Guardiola suggested next season could be his last at the Etihad.
