Carlo Pellegatti has asked where AC Milan go from here after yet another disappointing performance and another defeat away from home against Fiorentina last night.

Milan’s winning run in Serie A was stopped at three games as they lost 2-1 to Fiorentina on Sunday night in an encounter that certainly wasn’t lacking in drama. It is nonetheless a big blow for Paulo Fonseca’s side and it means there will now be two weeks of scrutiny due to the international break.

Moise Kean was the first player to miss a penalty before Milan loanee Yacine Adli gave the hosts the lead, then Theo Hernandez and Tammy Abraham each missed spot kicks. Christian Pulisic equalised, but Albert Gudmundsson scored the winner for La Viola, and Theo saw red at full-time.

Pellegatti published a video on his YouTube channel in which he expressed clear frustrations regarding last night’s performance and his comments were relayed by PianetaMilan.

“There are no more words to comment on a match like this that has too many things in common with the one with Parma. Then there is the penalty issue, the coach cannot name the penalty taker, namely Pulisic, and then Theo and Abraham take the penalty and not Pulisic, who seemed the easiest choice,” he began.

“There are no words for the first half performance against a normal team either. Today no one is safe. Milan started off badly. Milan managed to be worse than this Fiorentina. Leao never targeted his opponent who was also booked. Fofana was also bad. Morata was bad and Fonseca was bad.

“Now what happens in these weeks? It will be two long and heavy weeks because there will be justified criticism. The relapse is always worse than the first fall and today it was heavy.

“I never thought we would lose. It was important to win to remove the doubts and instead they all exploded again, it is an incredible situation. A complicated moment that no one expected.”
