AC Milan only just got past Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday evening, and Paulo Fonseca was not happy with several things, to the point where he may not continue, according to a journalist.
The current situation between Milan and Fonseca is bleak, and the more time passes, it looks like the problems are growing. On Friday, he accused the officials of effectively going against the Rossoneri, and then last night he stated that players are frustrating him whilst threatening action.
Reports are suggesting that the club are now leaving him ‘alone’ and perhaps, this is the first step in something which he is hoping for, an exit.
Speaking to Sportitalia, Alfredo Pedulla analysed Fonseca’s statements, and he believes that there is a clear message being given by the Portuguese, and his theory has been relayed by Milan News.
“Milan have always defended him, but there was a not-so-distant moment when they thought of Sarri, but then this did not go ahead even though there had been contacts that Milan clearly deny. The Rossoneri have always denied certain rumours.
“If Fonseca says these phrases [the ones last night] there are two roads: either he wants to resign or he is doing everything to get himself exonerated. I don’t have any other interpretation, these are statements of an enormous heaviness…”
With suggestions that the club have been in contact with other coaches, maybe an exit may not be far away.
