Paulo Dybala is closing in on a new deal with Roma after completing 100 appearances with the capital club.
The Argentine is coming off 8 consecutive starts for Roma: this hasn’t happened in his career since 2018, when he wore the Juventus jersey.
In Udine next weekend he could get to 9, provided Ranieri lines him up two and a half days after the Europa League match against AZ Alkmaar. A surge in performance that could also change his (and the club’s) strategies for the future.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, it is precisely thanks to his consistency that he has once again attracted the attention of world champion coach Lionel Scaloni. Playing in a competitive context, Dybala thinks he can earn his place in the 2026 World Cup.
Coincidentally, la Joya’s contract with Roma will expire (including the automatic renewal clause) that same year.
However, Ranieri and Ghisolfi are working to propose a further extension until 2027 with a spread out salary.
The deal would allow the Friedkins to save about 5 million gross.
