Manchester United fans have spoken out on which youngster they are most excited about seeing this season.
The Red Devils have had numerous talented players sign for the club lately at first team and youth level.
Chido Obi and Ayden Heaven both joined from Arsenal’s academy and have made their first team debuts at Old Trafford.
What’s more, the capture of Leny Yoro last summer was also seen as a massive coup and United are about to seal the deal for 22-year-old Benjamin Sesko.
The Peoples Person asked its readers, which United youngster will be the most important in this coming season and they had little doubt on who that was.
An incredible 49% of respondents thought that January signing Patrick Dorgu will be the most important youngster at the club this season.
The Denmark international is the starting left wing back and he has come off an impressive pre-season, where he scored his first goal for the side.
The 20-year-old will be vital as Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 system demands a lot from wing backs in an attacking and defensive sense, so his form will be absolutely critical to United’s season.
Interestingly, Mainoo was a distant second on 25% of the votes.
The academy graduate’s 2023-2024 season was outstanding where he scored a crucial goal in the FA Cup final and started for England in the Euro 2024 final.
Nonetheless, a mixture of injuries and a difficulty in fitting into Ruben Amorim’s system has meant that his importance has diminished.
United are hardly blessed with incredible options in the centre of the park at the moment, so many fans feel Mainoo should be given the chance to show his worth this season and recapture his sensational form under Erik ten Hag.
Ayden Heaven was next on 15% of the vote, as he caught the imagination of many fans with numerous impressive performances in 2025.
Regardless, it must be mentioned that he is only 18-years-old and has played just six senior games for the first team. Despite his incredible potential, patience will be required.
New summer signing Diego Leon was also expected to have a breakout season by 6% of the fans. He impressed in his opening match against Leeds United in pre-season but his involvement has been scaled back since.
It will be interesting to see if he spends the whole season in the first team or will he play for the academy or even go out on loan at a later stage.
Finally, Chido Obi was also expected by 5% of the readers to be the most important youngster this season.
The Dane is still searching for his first team goal but he has shown his incredible potential during his limited time on the pitch in senior and pre-season matches.
It will be interesting to see what impact the imminent arrival of Benjamin Sesko will have on his playing time this season.
