RC Lens have announced the signing of Odsonne Édouard (27) from Crystal Palace on a deal lasting until 2028.

The striker, who has made 105 appearances for Crystal Palace since joining the club in 2021 from Celtic FC, found himself surplus to requirements under head coach Oliver Glasner. Édouard made six appearances across all competitions last season. In need of more minutes, the former France youth international has been in the shop window and has been linked to multiple clubs, including Girona and OGC Nice.

Lens have been in need of a new striker, particularly with academy product Rayan Fofana (19) not yet looking ready to lead the line. Prior to reaching an agreement with Crystal Palace for Édouard, Lens had lined up a deal with AJ Auxerre for Lassine Sinayoko (25).

However, that transfer collapsed, with Auxerre getting cold feet. Instead, a path opened up for the Paris Saint-Germain academy product to return to a league that he hasn’t played in since he spent the 2016/17 season on loan with Toulouse FC.
