MIAMI – The final day of Round One in the 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-17 Qualifiers saw the last places in the Final Round sealed on Saturday.
Nicaragua and Costa Rica sealed their berths as winners of Groups E and F. Bermuda and Trinidad and Tobago advanced as the two best second-place teams.
Nicaragua 2, Jamaica 1
Nicaragua prevailed with a 2-1 victory over Jamaica in a fight for the top spot in Group E at the National Stadium in Managua, Nicaragua.
Olivia Flores gave the hosts the lead in the 3’, ready in the box to send a loose ball to the back of the net.
The Reggae Girlz evened the score in the 22’ thanks to the services of Ella Provost-Heron, who pounced on a bad clearance by the defense.
Mitzy Canales found a through ball in the edge of the area, sending a left-footed shot that hit the post before going into the center of the net to strike the match-winner in the 75’.
Dominican Republic 0, Costa Rica 3
Costa Rica claimed the top spot of Group F after a 3-nil win against the Dominican Republic at Estadio Olímpico Félix Sánchez in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Nubia Medina started the goal count for Costa Rica in the 28’, connecting with Emma Azofeifa’s assist.
Captain Fabiana Alfaro got her left leg to the ball, sending it to the bottom right corner in the 58’ to extend the lead.
Lucia Paniagua, who assisted on the second goal, got herself on the scoresheet in the 89’ to seal Costa Rica’s place in the Final Round.
