Follow live coverage as Newcastle United face Wolverhampton Wanderers today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.
The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.
Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:
Wolves have lost each of their last three Premier League away games against Newcastle and have never kept a clean sheet in nine visits to St James’ Park in the competition. With the hosts' current form, we can expect more of the same tonight. Let's see if Wolves can turn it around. Hall tries to find Isak with a good loopy ball, but it is a bit heavy.

SAVE! Murphy gets to the top of the box after winning the ball, gets his shot away, but Wolves goalkeeper Sa is up to the task and makes a good save diving to his left. Wolves clear it away quickly, but Newcastle United will be happy with that effort.

Andre gets a warning from the referee after his challenge on Gordon. No bookings just yet, but the referee was quite clear in his warning for the Wolves player. Wolves get a couple of crosses into the box, but Newcastle United's defenders are alive to the threat. Soon, another ball is sent in from the right, but Agbadou cannot get his shot away. That was closer than the hosts would have liked.

Newcastle United are overwhelming favourites to win this match with Opta's Live Win Probability model showing a strong 65.3% probability of a win for the hosts and only 16.4% for Wolves. Doherty and Gordon will be a match-up to watch for tonight and Gordon has already but the defender under some pressure with his movements. Gordon finds Isak in the box and Isak's flick is meant for Joelinton, who can't get there. He was offside anyway.

Wolves have made just the solitary change to the XI that took to the field in the FA Cup over Bristol City, as Sa is back in goal for Johnstone. Defender Agbadou makes his Premier League debut for Wolves. As expected, Semedo and Wolves’ top goalscorer Cunha are available today but only fit enough to start on the bench.
