Alphonso Davies and FC Bayern have not yet been able to agree on a contract extension. According to media reports, the left-back is planning a move to Real Madrid. Bayern bosses are therefore apparently already on the lookout for a possible replacement. However, the signing of Theo Hernandez now appears to be a distant prospect.

Since the imminent departure of Bayern star Alphonso Davies, the German record champions have been repeatedly linked with the signing of Theo Hernandez. The French international has been an undisputed regular at AC Milan for years and is regarded as one of the best left-backs in the world.

Milan boss puts a stop to transfer

Accordingly, the Milan club has absolutely no interest in letting its star player go. Hernandez has repeatedly played as captain and is an integral part of the team. This is another reason why the 26-year-old’s contract is to be extended ahead of schedule.

Milan’s CEO Giorgio Furlani made it clear in an interview with DAZN that he has no intention of letting the club’s best players leave – and that they, for their part, have no interest in leaving the club.

„Theo Hernandez, Rafa Leao and Mike Maignan are happy to stay at Milan. They all have long-term contracts here,“ emphasised Furlani. The club is also not financially dependent on sales: „We don’t need to sell any players in the summer. We can also invest without selling a top player.“

Are Bayern now stepping on the gas in their bid for Gutierrez?

The latest developments could now make Miguel Gutierrez from Girona FC the hottest candidate to succeed Davies. The 22-year-old is one of the shooting stars of the current La Liga season and has caught the eye of various top teams – including FC Bayern, FC Arsenal, FC Liverpool and Manchester United.

Reports are already doing the rounds in Spain that Munich are currently leading the race for the left-back. Thanks to an exit clause, he can leave his current club for a fixed transfer fee of 35 million euros.

However, thanks to a clause, Real Madrid have the option of bringing their ex-player back for just eight million. That is why there is already speculation that Gutiérrez could be part of a possible Davies deal between Bayern and Real.
