Powerful agent Jorge Mendes confirmed the mutual interest between Juventus and Antonio Silva and that the ball is now in Benfica’s court. He spoke to Sky during the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai.

“The Bianconeri want him, and he wants to join them. His current team has the last word. It’ll have to make a decision. We need to be patient. We’ll see what happens. He’d surely be pleased to move to Turin. The transfer market is still technically closed. He’s a very important player. He has great quality and is being pursued by the most prestigious teams in the world.”

Juventus can only sign Antonio Silva on loan, committing to a future purchase, as they have done with Francisco Conceiçao, who has the same agent. He dished on the winger too.

“His future is with the Bianconeri. He’s very happy to be there, and the same goes for the team. Their relationship will last for a long time.”

According to Alfredo Pedullà, the Old Lady is in a holding pattern concerning their top two defensive targets, the Portuguese talent and David Hancko. It’s not sure their clubs will let them go in January.

Fikayo Tomori could become an option, but there haven’t been concrete talks for now. Other rumored targets have been discarded, but a pair of Barcelona players could come into the picture, Ronald Araujo, who has a very high valuation, and Andreas Christensen, because they aren’t playing much.

Juventus are clearly prioritizing Antonio Silva and Hancko, but the outcomes of those pursuits hinges on Benfica and Feyenoord.
