Matteo Moretto gives Football España exclusive information on the latest deals dominating the papers in Spain, as revealed in Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing.

Manchester United interest in Ronald Araujo ‘very cold’

With his contract up in 2026, right now Barcelona are trying to extend Ronald Araujo’s contract but there is still no agreement on one. Sporting Director Deco is still in talks with his agents, but the two parties will have to meet again in person to discuss it and decide which path to take.

As we reported earlier in the year, Bayern Munich have not been in touch with Araujo’s agents since January. As of today, Manchester United is a very cold trail for Araujo. In the last few hours, Bayern’s Matthijs de Ligt has been approached by Manchester and I think it is a more probable option.

Rest of Real Madrid forward line staying put after Joselu Mato departure

After the exit of Joselu Mato, the rest of Real Madrid’s forward line looks set to stay put this summer, despite the fact two more forwards are arriving in Kylian Mbappe. So far I have no news about possible departures for Arda Guler, Brahim Diaz, or Rodrygo Goes.

All of them are very happy at Real Madrid and although there may be interested clubs, because they are obviously great players, I am not aware of any negotiations – or more pertinently that Real Madrid want to let them go. They are three players who are happy where they are and three important players for Real Madrid.

Atletico Madrid still some way off Artem Dovbyk signing

Atletico Madrid have been in talks with Artem Dovbyk’s entourage for some time and the issue is not the player’s green light, but rather that Girona continue to demand €40m for the Ukrainian striker. There is still significant distance between the two clubs on the price tag.

The two clubs have also talked directly about the issue, and Atletico have informed Girona that they want to make an offer, but their demands are still high and a long way off from what Atletico would like to offer.

Regarding the other goings on up front for Diego Simeone’s men, thus far Alvaro Morata’s future remains undecided, we will have a better understanding of what will happen with him after Euro 2024. As I revealed earlier in the week, Atletico have turned down offers from Chelsea, Samu Omorodion is going to return and the club would like him to stay. The idea of all the parties involved is that he plays at the Metropolitano next season.
