Barcelona star Marcus Rashford has this week revealed his opinion that an up-and-coming member of the attacking ranks in Catalunya’s capital is ready to make his mark at senior level.

The player in question? Pedro ‘Dro’ Fernández.

The name of youngster Dro has of course emerged as a prominent one in the headlines surrounding Barcelona over recent days.

This comes after the 17-year-old was afforded a somewhat surprising place in Barcelona’s squad for the club’s pre-season tour of Asia.

Dro quickly went on to showcase precisely why he had caught the eye of boss Hansi Flick, though, in finding the net on his senior bow in a friendly meeting with Vissel Kobe.

With the versatile midfielder/winger understood to be dazzling all before him in the Blaugrana first-team setup, his name, in turn, was put to the aforementioned Marcus Rashford this week.

Specifically, during an interview with Diario Sport, summer arrival Rashford was asked:

”Is Dro ready (to play his part this season?)”

And the Englishman went on to explain:

”Look, you can never know when young players are really ready until they play. But from what I see in training, he’s ready to play, he’s ready to help the team, and I think he’s already shown that. And not only Dro, but also the other young players.”
