Manchester United have reportedly decided not to move ahead with a move for Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba in the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils have been holding talks with the south coast outfit over a potential deal for the 21-year-old.
As they often do with their most talented prospects, Brighton slapped a massive price tag on Baleba, valuing him at over £100 million.
Even if Manchester United had been willing to meet the Seagulls’ demands, they are “not planning to proceed with a move” for the Cameroon international, according to The Athletic.
Brighton insisted that Baleba is not for sale and “plan to retain him for at least another season”, putting an end to United’s chase.
It’s added that Baleba is “prepared to keep pushing” for the move, although he is not necessarily “unhappy” at the Amex Stadium.
Fabrizio Romano also reports that Brighton did not indicate a transfer fee at which they would be willing to sell the player, with Manchester United “now expected to turn attention to different targets”.
“I didn’t see any change, he’s only changed his hair. I think that’s the change he’s made in the last two weeks,” Hurzeler said at his pre-match press conference.
“But overall he seems to be in a really good place, he’s enjoying it with his team-mates, he’s enjoying being a Brighton player.
“I didn’t see any big changes and he’s an option to start tomorrow”.
On whether Baleba would still be a Brighton player after September’s deadline, Hurzeler added: “Very very very confident, that’s just my belief.”
