Manchester City Are Confident Of Landing 22 Year Old Right Back: Will It Be A Good Deal?

Manchester City always find a way to shake up the market when Pep Guardiola detects cracks in his structure. This time is no different. The club have flexed their financial muscle with key signings while competing in the Club World Cup. With Rayan Cherki, Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Ait-Nouri already on board, fans are closely watching to see which player is missing to make everything fit.

The right-back position is becoming a matter of urgency. Kyle Walker, the club’s emblem and warrior, has one foot out the door. That’s why Guardiola is sharpening his aim and looking towards St. James’ Park. The idea of adding youth and potential is still alive, although the price may be painful.

Manchester City Are Optimistic Of Signing Valentino Livramento

According to Give Me Sport, Valentino Livramento is still on Guardiola’s wish list to strengthen that orphaned side. The Newcastle United full-back fits perfectly into the Catalan coach’s plans. He knows how to play both inside and outside, which is key to Pep’s system.

However, the Magpies remain firm: Livramento is not for sale. Despite preliminary talks, everything points to there being no opening for negotiation. Manchester City believe there is still room to convince them. Money would not be a problem. The problem is the resistance of a direct rival that neither need nor want to lose a gem with a contract until 2028.

Opinion:

From my point of view, Manchester City should think carefully before jumping in without a safety net. The insistence on the 22-year-old Englishman could end up being a distraction. There are young, dynamic full-backs with similar profiles scattered across Europe. Spending a fortune just because Guardiola has faith in this boy could be an unnecessary luxury.

Of course, Walker’s departure forces them to think quickly, but they must not lose their heads. Livramento is good, no doubt, but he is not irreplaceable. Furthermore, Newcastle have financial power and are in no hurry to sell. Trying to prise a player away from a club that are standing firm is exhausting. Is it worth paying over the odds when there are alternatives?

Guardiola’s defence needs freshness and balance, not a soap opera. The ideal would be to keep the radar open and not get carried away. If Newcastle close the door, Manchester City must have the temperance to change its target without drama. Persuading the Magpies will require an almost obscene offer, and that does not guarantee immediate performance.

The market still offers reliable full-backs who would be willing to leap. Sometimes obsession with a name clouds the big picture. If Guardiola has proven anything, it is that he knows how to reinvent himself. He can do it again without mortgaging the coffers for a single player.
