Manchester City admit numerous breaches of the rules – Premier League statement | OneFootball

Manchester City have admitted to breaching Premier League rules on nine different occasions.

An official Premier League statement today (19 June 2025) revealing the news.

Today’s news showing Manchester City in trouble on and off the pitch.

As this has nothing to do with the 115 alleged breaches of Premier League rules, regarding the finances of the club. We still await the much delayed and anticipated result of those.

Instead, this is to do with how Manchester City have behaved on nine different Premier League matchdays over the course of the last (2024/25) season.

Manchester City having admitted breaking the rules and agreed to pay total fines of £1.08millon, for for delaying kick-offs to Premier League games.

The nine games in question are eight times when Manchester City delayed the kick-off after the half-time break and twice the kick-off of the very start of the match. On 15 December 2024 when they lost at home to Manchester United, Manchester City were found to have unnecessarily delayed both the start of the match AND kicking off after half-time.

Also amongst the delayed kick-offs was when Man City were at home to Newcastle United on 15 February 2025 after the home side were 3-0 up at the break. In the official Premier League statement, that delay to the second-half kicking off was one minute 42 seconds.

A year ago, Manchester City were fined over £2m when admitting to unnecessarily delaying 22 Premier League matches across the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons.

These included both Newcastle United matches against Manchester City in the 2023/24 season.
