Liverpool are closing in on a deal for Florian Wirtz. Here's what they plan to do after that.
Liverpool are getting closer and closer to a deal for Florian Wirz. Securing that with Bayer Leverkusen is currently the top priority and the Reds are locked in talks with the German club.
It's fully expected that the two parties find common ground and that Wirtz signs for Liverpool. The Reds recently made an improved off and while that likely won't be accepted, a middle ground will be found.
Wirtz's signing will (hopefully) follow Jeremie Frimpong. The Dutchman was confirmed as Liverpool's first summer transfer on Friday.
The deal technically can't be completed until Sunday with the transfer window opening but everything is sealed. Frimpong is playing for Liverpool next season and in all likelihood, his mate from Leverkusen will follow him.
Liverpool are not done there, though. They will immediately turn their attention to securing another deal after that - and it's another exciting one.
The Daily Mail reports that Milos Kerkez is firmly next on the agenda at Liverpool. The groundwork for that one has already been laid - now it's about finding a complete agreement with Bournemouth.
The sticking point on that one has always been the asking price. The Cherries are after £45m for Kerkez - an incredible amount for a young full-back.
Still, Liverpool hope to add the ideal successor to Andy Robertson and Kerkez is probably that. He's just been named in the Premier League Fans' Team of the Season and the expectation is that he'll get a few more TOTS nods this summer.
