On Sunday, L’Équipe reported that Paris Saint-Germain had opened talks with Mohamed Salah’s representatives, hinting that the 32-year-old might now be more open to joining the Ligue 1 club. This fueled fresh transfer speculation.

However, PSG quickly shot down the rumors, with a club source telling the French outlet, “It’s not true.” The report also suggested that Salah could be using the speculation to strengthen his position in ongoing contract talks with Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Football Insider recently revealed that Salah is seeking a lucrative contract extension to remain at Anfield until 2027. The Egyptian forward is reportedly aiming for an additional three years with the club in these negotiations.

Despite the PSG rumors, it looks like Salah will stay at Liverpool. On Wednesday, TEAMtalk reported that significant progress had been made in contract discussions, with sources expressing growing confidence that a deal will be finalized soon.

Amid the rumors, former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann believes Bayern Munich could attempt to bring Salah to Germany if his contract situation remains unresolved.

“If Liverpool don’t offer him a contract, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Mohamed Salah end up at Bayern Munich,” Hamann said (h/t The Mirror). “At the moment, they’ve got wingers who haven’t really set the world alight on the pitch. I wouldn’t be surprised if they tried to bring him in. They won’t be the only club either.”
