Liverpool are reportedly keen on securing the services of Borussia Dortmund’s rising star, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, according to a recent report from Caught Offside. The 20-year-old English winger has caught the attention of multiple Premier League clubs following a standout season in the Bundesliga. With seven goals and four assists in 20 appearances during the 2024/25 campaign, Bynoe-Gittens is making waves, and Liverpool are among the clubs monitoring his progress closely.
Jamie Bynoe-Gittens’ breakout season at Borussia Dortmund has placed him firmly on the radar of Europe’s elite clubs. The left winger’s dynamic performances, combined with his pace and flair, have made him a valuable asset for Dortmund. However, the club’s financial situation could make it difficult to retain their latest prodigy.
“We have to keep an eye on Jamie Gittens. If Dortmund doesn’t reach the Champions League, I think they will have to sell him,” Christian Falk revealed in Caught Offside’s exclusive Fact Files column.

This potential Champions League absence could open the door for Liverpool to swoop in. However, the Reds aren’t the only club interested, with Manchester United and Chelsea also in the hunt.
Liverpool’s pursuit of Bynoe-Gittens will not be straightforward. Manchester United, under Erik ten Hag, are looking to bolster their attacking options, and Bynoe-Gittens’ versatility makes him an appealing target. Chelsea, too, have been linked with the player as they continue their strategy of investing in young talents.
Dortmund’s need to balance their books could force their hand if they miss out on Champions League qualification. While Bayern Munich are also reportedly interested, their involvement might hinge on offloading Mathys Tel and not pursuing Christopher Nkunku.
It may seem unusual for Liverpool to target another left winger, given their current squad depth. Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota already occupy that position, and Cody Gakpo offers additional flexibility across the front line. However, Bynoe-Gittens’ potential and his ability to operate across various attacking roles might make him an attractive long-term investment.
Arne Slot, Liverpool’s current manager, has shown a preference for adaptable, young talents who can be moulded into his tactical system. Adding Bynoe-Gittens to the mix could provide the squad with additional depth and competition, especially as the club plans for the future beyond established stars like Mohamed Salah.

The Bundesliga could see a significant exodus of young talent in the coming months. Alongside Bynoe-Gittens, names like Mathys Tel and Xavi Simons are attracting Premier League attention. Tel’s future could depend on his loan spell at Tottenham, while Simons’ situation at RB Leipzig suggests he might be available despite his recent move from PSG.
Liverpool’s transfer strategy in recent years has leaned towards acquiring young, promising talents and developing them into first-team regulars. Bynoe-Gittens fits this mould perfectly, and the club’s interest signifies their commitment to building for the future.
From a Liverpool fan’s perspective, the club’s interest in Jamie Bynoe-Gittens is both exciting and puzzling. On one hand, it’s thrilling to see the Reds linked with such a promising young talent, especially one who has proven himself in a top European league like the Bundesliga. His pace, dribbling ability, and eye for goal make him an intriguing prospect who could thrive under Arne Slot’s guidance.
However, there’s the question of necessity. With Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, and Cody Gakpo all capable of playing on the left, where does Bynoe-Gittens fit in? Perhaps the club is planning for potential departures or looking to increase competition within the squad. It’s also possible that Bynoe-Gittens could be utilised in a more flexible attacking role, given his versatility.
The competition from Manchester United and Chelsea is another factor to consider. Both clubs are aggressive in the transfer market and could drive up the price. If Liverpool are serious about this move, they’ll need to act decisively.
Ultimately, Bynoe-Gittens represents the kind of forward-thinking transfer that Liverpool fans have come to expect. Whether he’s the missing piece remains to be seen, but his potential is undeniable.
