The Liverpool manager’s post-Everton press conference had to be cancelled
Slot is set to address the media ahead of his side’s Premier League clash at home to Wolves on Sunday.
Though when the Dutchman sits down in front of the media, it will be for the first time since the 2-2 draw with Everton on Wednesday night as the last-ever Merseyside derby descended into chaos after the final whistle.
A Liverpool statement reads: “Watch Arne Slot’s pre-Wolverhampton Wanderers press conference live with us from 9am GMT on Friday.
“The Liverpool head coach will speak to the media to preview Sunday’s Premier League clash with Wolves at Anfield.
“See everything Slot has to say via our live YouTube stream from the AXA Training Centre below.”
As Slot and assistant Sipke Hulshoff were both sent off after the full-time whistle against Everton, Liverpool did not conduct a post-match press conference thanks to a little-known Premier League rule.
As per ESPN, a stricter approach was imposed at the start of the 2023/24 top-flight season stating that managers who are shown red cards are then banned from taking part in any post-match news conferences or broadcast interviews, with Slot also not talking to TNT Sports or the BBC as he usually would.
Presumably Liverpool would have sent Hulshoff in as Slot’s replacement, but that was not possible due to his own red card.

Therefore, whilst this morning’s press conference will be to preview Sunday’s Premier League clash, it’s almost certain Slot will be quizzed about the exchange with referee Michael Oliver that led to his dismissal as well as the rather controversial ending to the Merseyside derby.
Slot is facing a wait to learn how long a potential touchline ban will be as a statement on the Premier League website on Thursday morning that suggested he had been handed a two-match touchline ban for his language towards Oliver has since been deleted.
