Leeds United head into the final six games of the Championship season with history in danger of repeating itself.
The Whites blew a golden opportunity to win promotion to the Premier League last season but were on course to set the record straight this term.
However, a run of one win in their last six games has dropped Leeds outside the automatic promotion places behind Burnley and Sheffield United.
A frustrating 1-1 draw at Luton Town last weekend sparked talk that Leeds are on course to fall apart in another promotion race.
They can ill-afford any more slip-ups over the final few weeks, starting with tonight’s tricky encounter against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.
Their other five fixtures on the run-in look relatively favourable, which could give them an edge over their promotion rivals.
Burnley and Sheffield United are also scheduled to meet on Easter Monday – a factor which should also work in Leeds’ favour.
Securing a positive result this evening could be the catalyst for Leeds to finish the season strongly and banish the memories of their collapse last term.
Arsenal versus Real Madrid in the Champions League should be worth watching. If you prefer fan protests, the Championship clash between Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield Wednesday is the place to be.
