Lazio have reportedly enquired about the availability of Napoli striker Giovanni Simeone who saw little playing time this season.
The Biancocelesti could decide to add a new attacker to their ranks, especially if Taty Castellanos ends up leaving this summer. Lazio Sporting Director Angelo Fabiani insists that the Argentinian remains ‘unsellable‘, but many sources in Italian football do not agree with this statement.
As reported exclusively by The Laziali journalist Alfredo Pedulla, the Italian capital side could try to replace Castellanos with Giacomo Raspadori who could be intrigued to leave Napoli in search of a more prominent role.
Nevertheless, Italian journalist Orazio Accomando claims that Lazio are also interested in Raspadori’s teammate, Simeone. While the Italian has at least earned several starting berths this season, the Argentinian has been reduced to a mere benchwarmer, only starting one Serie A match this season, with his 29 other appearances coming off the bench.

The DAZN correspondent adds that Napoli have slapped a relatively high price tag for Simeone whose contract will expire next year, but Lazio are aiming to drive it down through negotiations.
Many believe that the 29-year-old will be desperate to leave the Stadio Maradona. Although he won two Scudetto titles in three years and holds the supporters’ esteem for his tenacious approach, he hasn’t been able to carve out an important role at the club.
The former Fiorentina and Genoa striker has been linked with Lazio in the past, which shouldn’t come as a surprise given that his father, Diego Simeone, had a memorable stint at the club between 1999 and 2003.
