Pablo Torre has done everything asked of him by Hansi Flick this season at FC Barcelona in the few opportunities that have presented themselves.

Yet, the young midfielder is far from seeing the prominence he would have hoped for and the only factor to be blamed is the scathing competition in midfield.

With the likes of Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, Dani Olmo, Marc Casado, and Fermin Lopez all ahead of him on the manager’s pecking order, Torre has found it difficult to see minutes this season.

Now, rumours of a departure are beginning to rise and the player cannot be faulted for contemplating the same.

La Liga side interested

As relayed by Estadio Deportivo in a recent update, Getafe are alert to Torre’s situation and hope to pounce on the opportunity in the winter transfer market to sign him.

Jose Bordalas’ men have not enjoyed a great start to the season and are looking to make big changes in the winter to get their campaign back on track.

Torre’s signing, on that front, would be massive for them as it would bring them a player with an outstanding creative vision, ability on the ball, and knack for goals.

Barcelona are not expected to outright deny the chance of selling Torre as they are well-stacked in the position and they see that his departure could rope in much-needed funds.

The young midfielder’s current market value, after all, stands at €5 million and the Catalans will press for more if they are to part ways with him mid-season. Such a sum would be invaluable to their coffers, especially amidst registration troubles.

So far this season, the 21-year-old has made seven appearances and four starts for Flick’s side in La Liga and has three goals and an assist to his name.

Despite the interest, Torre, whose minutes have dried up, especially in recent weeks, does not intend to leave and wishes to fight for his place.
