FLW take a look at two ideal transfers for Millwall in the upcoming window.

Millwall are once again battling to try and secure a play-off spot, with the Lions currently sitting in tenth place.

After an indifferent start to the season, Neil Harris' side got themselves back on track in early October, and haven't lost a game since.

This has seen a period of four wins and five draws, including successive 1-0 victories over promotion-chasing Burnley and Leeds United.

However, despite picking up 17 points from the last 27 available, goals have been at a premium, suggesting the Lions' defence is the key to their success.

This is something that Harris may look to resurrect in January, and at Football League World we would urge him to authorise a departure in order to make way for an incoming.

Tom Bradshaw should depart Millwall

Before making any potential moves, Harris must free up space in his squad. Allowing Tom Bradshaw to leave this January would therefore be a sensible decision.

The 32-year-old has been at The Den for six years now, having joined from Barnsley in 2018, and has been a consistent performer for Millwall. A particular highlight was the 2022-23 season, during which he scored 16 goals and provided four assists in 41 appearances.

However, in the current squad, he has found game time hard to come by, with the Welshman making just six appearances to date. This is due to new signings, Josh Coburn and Macauley Langstaff, who have been entrusted by Harris to lead the line.

Although the past three games have seen him accrue 135 minutes of action, you feel that it could be the correct time for Bradshaw to depart.

In the league below, he would have plenty of suitors with the likes of Huddersfield Town and Wrexham sure to be interested in a player of his calibre. Additionally, you could see lower-end Championship teams making moves, as the likes of Cardiff City and Portsmouth are both struggling for goals.

With six months remaining on his current deal, it will provide them with one final opportunity to cash in on the experienced striker, so we would urge Harris to sell him for a minimal fee in January.

If they can secure a permanent departure for Bradshaw, then making a move for Richard Kone could help ease their goalscoring woes.

The 21-year-old arrived in the United Kingdom in 2019 to play in the Homeless World Cup. The Ivorian then went on to sign for Lopes Tavares, later renamed Athletic Newham, where he scored 88 goals in 109 games.

Unsurprisingly, this caught the attention of teams higher up the English pyramid and last January Wycombe Wanderers captured the youngster on an 18-month deal.

His brilliant form since has earned him great recognition, as he has managed to notch 16 goals in 46 appearances for the Chairboys. However, this season he has taken it to new levels with nine goals in 16 League One matches, which has prompted the League One promotion hopefuls to offer him a new deal.

Kone's exploits will have turned heads in the Championship. The Lions should be top of that pile and make a move for the impressive attacker despite his new contract.

Not only do his shooting statistics stand out, but he has also proven himself to be a well-rounded player. The Ivorian is a skillful dribbler and excels at linking up play, making him a valuable asset in attack. Moreover, his work rate out of possession is exceptional, which means he could integrate seamlessly into Harris' system.
