The central defender succeeds Kevin Trapp.
Head coach Dino Toppmöller has named Robin Koch as the new Eintracht Frankfurt team captain, with the experienced defender taking over the role from Kevin Trapp. “Robin is one of the players who leads and really carries the team,” Toppmöller said. “He is one of the first names on the team sheet and has a crucial role out on the pitch for me, making him the best possible candidate for the captaincy.”
Koch is beginning his third season as an Eagle and has played 85 matches for the club across all competitions, 16 of them with the captain’s armband. Just over two months ago, the 29-year-old penned an early contract extension with Eintracht through to 2030.
“Being named captain of Eintracht Frankfurt is a big and special honour for me,” the German international said. “I want to give my all to this role and help steer our team to further success.”
