Head coach Dino Toppmöller, Robin Koch and Jens Grahl assess the clash against Engers, where it was “mission completed” for Eintracht.
Head coach Dino Toppmöller: “We’re glad that we’re through to the next round – mission completed. Credit to FV Engers for their performance, too. They made life difficult for us and threw themselves into every ball. It was a typical cup game. My boys showed a great attitude, we were just a bit untidy in the final third. We got a lot of breaks on the wings but then the final ball was often lacking. The margin of victory is deserved. It was a hard-fought but fair game.”
Robin Koch: “We were a bit slow to get going but then we did well. Everyone sensed that this was a real occasion for the people here. We spoke about what we needed to do better at half-time, that we needed to play quicker. As time went on, the game became easier for us as we had fewer problems finding the spaces.”
Jens Grahl: “We won and kept a clean sheet so we can be pleased with that. Potential arrivals or departures don’t change much for me, I continue to give everything and try to be there when I’m needed. We’ve come quite a long way as a team, we have a good squad and a lot is possible for us again.”
