The managerial dominos are falling one after the other and at this rate, even the FA Cup final might be enough to save Erik ten Hag.

The Peoples Person recently relayed a report that Ten Hag is set to leave United in the summer and now the list of his potential replacements has just got a boost.

BBC Sports reports that Kieran McKenna is set to reject Ipswich Town’s new contract offer as he feels the time is now right to move.

McKenna, a former United coach, has been the apple of the eye of elite clubs after engineering stunning back-to-back promotion campaigns for Ipswich.

The report states that Chelsea lead the race for him, Brighton are interested, while United’s situation with Ten Hag could yet prove to be a curveball.

It’s a whole domino as Chelsea parted ways with Mauricio Pochettino, who also figures to be a top target for United now that he’s available.

Roberto de Zerbi was a wanted man anyways but his departure from Brighton makes approaching him far easier now.

Add to that Thomas Tuchel’s departure from Bayern Munich and suddenly, the mitigating factor of not having quality replacements keeping Ten Hag in the job goes out of the window.

The Dutchman has had a horrid second season at the club with even the barrage of injuries not being enough of a factor to account for the performances.

It was long believed that INEOS would make a decision on him after the FA Cup final but it was always unlikely that a far-thinking leadership structure would base their decision on one game.

With the dominos falling around Ten Hag plus recent reports emerging on his future, it looks like the decision has been made already.

After all, it won’t be the first time a Dutch Man United manager leaves the club after winning the FA Cup due to poor league performance.

The difference this time being that United aren’t even favourites for that trophy!
