According to Sky, negotiations between the Italian club and Leipzig are progressing rapidly, while Bild reports a “hot trail” pointing toward Italy as the likely destination.
The arrangement under discussion would initially see Openda move on loan, potentially becoming a permanent transfer next year. Bild explains that the deal could see Juventus pay RB Leipzig €40 million if the club finishes the season in the top three of Serie A, making the 25-year-old striker a permanent member of the Italian side.
RB Leipzig have already identified a replacement in Conrad Harder, the 20-year-old from Sporting Lisbon. Meanwhile, speculation has also linked Openda with Bayern Munich, following the apparent collapse of a loan for Nicolas Jackson. Bild notes that a move to Munich remains unlikely under the current circumstances.
