Juventus are pressing ahead on multiple transfer fronts, with the pursuit of Jonathan David gaining traction but facing fresh complexities, and Timothy Weah’s future at the club still far from settled. According to reporting from Tutto Juve and Bianconera News, the next few days are expected to be decisive as the club seeks clarity ahead of key financial deadlines.

The chase for Jonathan David, soon to leave Lille as a free agent, appears to be entering its critical phase. Juventus have made progress in their approach, but are under significant time pressure. “Juve need to move quickly and resolve the issue with agent commissions,” writes La Repubblica, noting that rival clubs are circling, hoping to tempt David with more attractive contract offers. This urgency is driven by the fact that David will officially be out of contract in just three days, leaving Juventus in a race against time.

Significantly, transfer specialist Nicolò Schira reports that David has already rejected substantial offers from Saudi Arabia and Fenerbahçe, indicating a clear preference for joining Juventus. Negotiations remain focused on closing the gap around agent fees, with both the player’s representatives and an Italian intermediary involved in talks.

While adding firepower remains a priority, shifting existing squad members could unlock further moves. Juventus have an agreement in place with Nottingham Forest for the sale of Timothy Weah and Samuel Mbangula, with a combined deal reported at around €25 million. However, as relayed by TMW and Tutto Juve, both players, especially Weah, view a move to Forest as a backward step and have declined to accept the transfer. Weah, after a more positive campaign—particularly under Thiago Motta—would prefer to remain and compete for a place in a Champions League side rather than join a club battling in the lower half of the Premier League.

This has led to public frustration from Weah’s agent, Badou Sambague, who said, “Weah is a fantastic player and teammate. Seeing people act this way for money and selfishness is disappointing. It’s a shame. Nobody can move my players around like puppets as long as I’m here. I’m happy that Timo remains focused and professional.” The agent’s remarks underscore the tensions created by financial pressures at the club, with Juventus needing to finalize outgoing deals to balance the books ahead of the June 30 deadline.

Despite the current impasse, the market remains open until September and other opportunities for both sales and arrivals could materialise. With Champions League football and squad renewal on the agenda, Juventus’s immediate focus will be to resolve the commission issue for David and find solutions that suit both player ambition and the club’s financial realities.
